WHAT I’M WORKING ON CURRENTLY AND THOUGHTS ON EIGHTIES MOVIES

I’m working on maps for the story now. I’ll upload a better version of the map to the website until the second book is released, which will hopefully have a larger, colourful and more detailed map of the land. I also want to get my hands on a decent art tablet over the next couple of weeks, so I don’t have to do everything the old fashioned way.

I watched Conan the Barbarian over the weekend. I loved it years ago before more modern and less clunky movies with battles came out, such as Braveheart. I still love it, but certain parts haven’t aged too well. The eighties were full of cheap Sword and Sorcery movies that, even to me back then were forgettable. But Conan always felt like a proper movie, more grounded and real. James Earl Jones should have been in it more.                                                                                                                                                 I also loved the Ray Harryhausen movies. Especially Clash of the Titans and Jason and the Argonauts. The Sinbad Movies were alright, But nothing could beat the final battle in Jason and the Argonauts with the Skeletons. It was probably my favourite fantasy action scene for many years. I’d love to make a nod to it in the book, but I’ve no skeleton soldiers as of yet!
